Emily Epstein, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Emily is a certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over five years of experience as an advanced-practice nurse and prior experience as a direct support professional and acute psychiatric nurse. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from Colorado College and obtained her master’s in nursing at the University of Southern Maine. Emily treats a wide variety of psychiatric issues with particular expertise in mood, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders. She takes an integrative, person-centered approach to psychiatry. She believes that helping people achieve optimal mental health requires much more than just psychiatric medications to reduce symptoms. It also requires holding compassionate space, addressing root-cause and other associated factors, focusing on what’s meaningful, and empowering people to actively engage in their mental health recovery. Emily is compassionate,
thoughtful, creative and kind. She values relationships above all else, and believes they are key to successful mental health recovery.
Emily lives with her husband Kyle, their infant daughter Elsie, and Australian Cattle Dog “Alo” in Durango Colorado where she enjoys playing in the incredible San Juan Mountains that she feels so lucky to call her home.
