"My children and myself have been going to La Plata family therapy for over a year now. We were met with extreme professionalism through the administration and the therapists who were carefully selected to fit the various points of concerns I wanted to help my kids navigate through. Great atmosphere, and even better therapists!"
★★★★★
"I was working to book an appointment. In the past this has been very hard, but Peyton Burnside was SOOO helpful. She answered all of my questions about insurance, got me set up with a provider and was sweet. I truly appreciate her help and support making this process so easy."
★★★★★
"My entire family goes here and we have had nothing but an excellent experience. Compassion, knowledge, awareness, and guidance from each therapist. The owner is also readily available to help with appointments or app errors or anything else we have needed. I couldn’t recommend this place more!"

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance and Medicaid in Colorado and New Mexico?
Yes. We are in-network with most major insurance companies to ensure families in Durango and Fort Collins have accessible care. We proudly accept Colorado Medicaid (Health First Colorado), New Mexico Medicaid, Medicare, and Tricare, as well as HSA and FSA payments.
DO YOU CONTRACT WITH INSURANCE COMPANIES?
We are in-network with most insurance companies in our area and our office bills these plans directly to the insurance. You would simply be responsible for any co-pay or unpaid services.
We can, upon request, provide you with receipts and a coded visit bill (called “super bills”) which you may submit to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement if you choose. We encourage you to check with your insurance regarding the specifics of your policy.
What counseling and psychiatry services do you offer in Durango and Fort Collins?
Our expert team provides a full spectrum of care designed to help your family get unstuck, including child and play therapy, teen counseling, adult individual therapy, couples and marriage counseling, and specialized psychiatry for medication management.
Can I access virtual therapy if I live in rural Colorado or New Mexico?
Yes. While we have physical offices in Durango and Fort Collins, we provide comprehensive telehealth and virtual care for families across all of Colorado and New Mexico, including Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and rural communities like Bayfield and Timnath.
How do I start therapy with a free 15-minute consultation?
Taking the first step is simple: schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation to tell us your story. We will then match you with the right expert guide and create a custom plan to help you or your loved one begin experiencing real growth and healing.
